Thursday Draw 22.03.12

Hi guys

Click Here for the new draw.

There is a number of returning members to the draw – welcome back Chris, Steve, Bertus, Laurie, Allan, Ken, Daniel, Phillip , Patrick and Daniel.  Rick is sitting out this round, see you next time!

It was decided to continue with the draw on one night rather than splitting across two so there has to be two extra time slots (5pm and 930pm).  If you cannot make these times, please reschedule for another night – remember your times change each draw.  The first to 11 scoring (rather than first to 15) will continue for this round.  There are a few rounds with a weekly BYE also.

Please try and arrive early for your game and keep the on court warm ups short to keep the night flowing.

Important: Please make sure you enter your game scores on the scoring sheets. They will be on the notice board on the right hand side as you come up the stairs.

Thursday league protocol:

•             First to 11 per game, have to win by 2 .  First player to win three games takes the match – play until there is a winner!

•             Score the next game on your court and write that match score on the notice board sheet.

•             Remember the allocated slot is an estimate only.  Try to arrive 30 minutes early as the nights are unpredictable and games can run early (or late)!

•             Winner of the line is promoted and loser relegated if feasible.

•             Try and keep the on court warm ups as short as possible – think of the players that still need to play!

•             It is custom that the winner offers to buy the loser a drink.

If you cannot play your game on a Thursday, please contact your opposition to reschedule.

Thanks

Nicol

New Season 2012 Squash Draw

Hi guys

Here is the new draw starting this Thursday.

There is a number of new members to the draw – welcome Bernard Rule, Blake Patrick, James Elliott, Elley Mytton, Graeme Montgomery, Shiree Neeley, Bridget Eilering and Shaun Brown.  Also its good to have Lesley back after a few months off and to see Murray Jagger in the draw.  A few regulars are sitting this round out but I’m sure we will see them soon when the fishing is not so enticing!

This first round will be more of a assessment round to get everyone in the right “spot” for the next draw so please be understanding if some of your games come across too hard/easy.

Please try and arrive early for your game and keep the on court warm ups short to keep the night flowing.

Important: Please make sure you enter your game scores on the scoring sheets. They will be on the notice board on the right hand side as you come up the stairs.

Usual Thursday league protocol:

•             First to 15 per game, have to win by 2 .

Monday nights the bar is open so try and reschedule for then if possible (for Monday night times write your name on the whiteboard upstairs).

Let me know if you have any queries.

The attached draw will be on www.manaiasquash.co.nz website shortly.  Password:  Manaia. It is case sensitive.

Thanks

The Club Champs

Note: You will see there is no league round on 27 October – this is because of the Club Champs being held. The Club Champs is a “members only” competition – it is basically our club’s year end function and lots of fun! There will be three guaranteed games of squash each between the Thursday and Saturday with a spit roast on the Saturday afternoon following prizegiving. Varieties of categories for trophy winners. We would like all members to enter this competition so please save the date and let me know if you have any questions about it!

Superchamps 2011

If you and your club haven’t started getting teams organised already then now is the time to do it. National Superchamps finals this year are at the following venues:
· B Grade – Whakatane
· C Grade – Timaru
· D Grade – Royal Oak
· E Grade – Tokoroa
· F Grade – Taumarunui
But before you go booking your flights and accommodation, there’s a catch! Your club team must enter and win the Northland Regional Superchamps Eliminations. These will be held July 29 – 31st at a venue or venues yet to be decided, dependent on entries received.

Squash Northland is now calling for entries.

Team entries must be on the correct entry form (see attached), players must be listed in playing order, and the entry form must be received by Squash Northland, PO Box 451, Whangarei with the accompanying entry fee of $100 per team entered, by 8th July 2011.For those that wish you may pay directly into our account. If you choose this option please indicate on your entry form that you have paid directly to our account. Playing order must be submitted at time of entry and all rules regarding this and more are attached. Most important is that players must play in order of grade – ie. a D2 cannot play above a D1.

Checklist:
1. Have we enough keen, available players to make a team in one or more grades?
2. Complete the attached team entry form and email or post to Squash Northland, PO Box 451, Whangarei by 8th July 2011. Include team entry form, if posting.
3. If your team entry is emailed to squash1@ihug.co.nz please ensure that the $100 per team entry is posted in to be received by the due date – same as team entry.
4. Start training!
Any questions? Just sing out and we’ll do our best to help you.

Let’s make this the best Northland Superchamps ever!
